Goa State Museum
Overview
Goa State Museum, Panaji is situated at Panjim, which is in the Goa city. This new museum, in EDC Complex at Patto, was inaugurated through Chief executive of India and it first started out on June Eighteenth, 1996. Before this time frame, relics were set up at Division of Records in Goa through Archeology & Art gallery device. Thereafter, a little museum was started out for the community on 29th Sept 1977 at leased developing at St. Inez, also at Panjim.
The museum has around eight thousand relics on the show, such as rock statues, wood made things, designs, bronzes, artwork, manuscripts, unusual silver coins, numismatic selection, and anthropological things. This is known among various museums for selection of Hindu as well as Jain relics and scriptures.
History
The archaeology of Art gallery was originally situated in leased property at St Inez at Panaji. This was started out for the community on the date 1977, 29th September. A new developing was designed on borders of Panaji at Patto Plaza, and the museum was moved to new developing and inaugurated through Chief executive of Indian on Eighteenth June year 1996. The collection at present has a selection of 8000 things, and which includes Stone Statues, Wood made things, Bronzes, Artwork, Manuscripts, numismatic selection, anthropological things, clay-based models etc. There are 645 things financed from Institution Braganza Menezes Art collection along with Kala Academia.

Sculpture Gallery
This selection has the best things of the entire selection of art gallery. In Statue Gallery, rock statues, as well as bronzes of the different deities, Idol rocks as well as Sati rocks, are shown. This selection also contains identities or pictures thereof relationship from 4th millennium A.D. A significant among this is birdwatcher dish wording of Viravarma, Kadamba master, since 1049 A.D. The earliest item in art gallery i.e. non-renewable bone since 10000 B.C. is shown here.
Christian Art Gallery
The collection displays wood made sculptures of Religious Team and such as Pieta. There are images of various past Goa Colonial Governors and Primary Ministers. It also contains some unusual artwork on wood, steel and fabric, some furnishings like designed table and seat of Colonial Governor General, couch set with cream color inlay work, small cream color idols, dresser and few seats of European style. An exciting product is a banner which was utilized to honor Colonial success over Nederlander.
Banerji Art Gallery
Shri. Banerji S. K, Goa Ex-Governor, has contributed very wealthy selection to Goa StateCollection. This selection is located in the collection known as after him. It contains terracotta things of Indus Area Society, closes of Janapadas, rock statues of the Gandhara University of Art, Southern Native Indian bronzes, wood made statues of Southern Eastern Japan as well as Dhokra ware. In inclusion to Rajasthani small artwork of Jaipur School, university Marwar, Mewar University, etc., the artwork of Mughal design, Orissa Nathdwara and patachitras and few modern artworks are shown here.
Religious Expression Gallery
A historical picture of Master Vishnu from Gupta interval is most stunning and useful belongings kept in Spiritual Concept collection. This collection shows the different and multi-cultural religious movement of Goa over the decades. It has a design of "Tarang", conventional musical technology equipment, praise tools, manuscripts palm-leaf and document manuscripts of religious text messages and also old pictures of religious events and celebrations.
Cultural Anthropology
Social Anthropology collection shows the things related to cultural anthropology like household tools, different games, loads and actions. It also shows the model of sugarcane crusher, motorized hoist and farming utilize. The most amazing are clay-based designs displaying different careers.
Contemporary Art Gallery
In Modern Art Collection, artwork and statues of renown Goan, as well as Native indian performers, are shown. There is the artwork of prestigious performers like F. N. Souza, R. Chimulkar, M. F. Hussain, S. H. Raza, K. H. Ara and others obtained on a mortgage through Kala Academia and Institution of Menezes Braganza have been shown here.
Western Bronzes Gallery
In the European Bronzes Collection, replications of brown statues of European Performers such as Dalton, Claude, and others are shown. This bronzes from the important of the collection.
Exhibitions
An Art gallery Weeks time is famous every season in the 2nd week of Jan, and which various programs have been organized such as display of the new collection. The Art gallery also sets up other programs during seasons such as Artwork competitors, Article contests and Tests.
