Varca Beach
Overview
Varca beach is about 2 km south of Benaulim Beach in South Goa. The major attractions around here is the Benaulim Beach, Margao, etc. The Varca Beach is one tourist destination that is not so famous in the Beach Capital of India Goa. The quiet resort is charming with the bountiful beauty of nature. The soft white sandy beach is a major draw for several tourists. The Varca beach is quieter and cleaner when compared with the other renowned beaches in Goa. The palm-thatched long houses dot the sandy Varca beach. Along with the usual relaxing and rejuvenating activities like sunbathing you may indulge in Dolphin watching and boat trips. It is time to enjoy nature at its best at the Varca beach.
Besides the fun for food, there are several restaurants that offer excellent seafood at reasonable prices and good service. There are many eating joints in hotels. Many accommodation facilities are also available on the Varca beach itself. A variety of hotels and beach resorts dot Varca. Though there is ample shelter for the budget tourists too in the form of houses that may be rented in the village. The latter offers an excellent first-hand experience of the true Goan lifestyle. Though you may plan your visit of the Varca beach at any time of the year through the months from November to March are the best in all respects. The vivacious Varca beach is well connected with the rest of the places. The Dabolim airport provides connectivity through the air. For road transport, there are plenty of buses and auto rickshaws. For local transport also scooters and cycles are easily available on hire basis.
Varca, Cavelossim, and Mobor are the most beautiful beaches south of Benaulim. These beaches are much cleaner and quieter than most of the famous beaches of Goa. There are numerous beach shacks offering a variety of Goan dishes and seafood at reasonable prices. There are several food joints around Dona Sylvia where you can get the entire package of good food, good drink, nice service, and a pleasant service in quite reasonable rates. There are facilities for Dolphin watching at Betty’s Place as well as boat trips for Dolphin watching up river Sal.
