Jayaprakash Narayan Biodiversity Park or JP Park is located right adjacent to the Yeshwantpur Railway Station on an 85-acre site at Mathikere in the north-west area of Bangalore. JP Park was opened in 2006 and is the biggest park in Bangalore after Lalbagh and Cubbon Park. Jayaprakash Narayan Biodiversity Park Promoted as the ‘Lal Bagh’ of the North Bangalore. The park boasts of 20,000 varieties of plant species, 60,000 flowering plants and shrubs and 5,000 medicinal herbs.T he parks has three grooves called Pavithra Vana, which will have mini grooves called Nakshatra Vana, Rashi Vana and Navagraha Vana.

The large pond with fish, which come near the shore to gobble up food thrown by the visitors, is yet another thing to experience. The 4.5-km jogging track is abuzz with people every morning and evening. Under the mantraps which provide shade at various corners of the park, people participate in yoga, laughter clubs and other activities. The park also hosts blood donation drives, eye camps, and diabetes camps. The park also entertains its visitors with a musical fountain, open to the public every Saturday and Sunday after 7 30 p.m. is 30 minutes long

jp park is a great way to kids with their environment with a daily dose of fun & adventure. The park also had some winged visitors with the common myna, white cranes, snowy egrets etc. is a common sight. Main attractions in the park are the two water bodies of 15 and nine acres each. The bigger lake has already attracted migratory birds like pond heron, coot hen, little cormorant, Moore hen, pelicans etc.
