Echo point, as its name resembles give you the pleasure of hearing your voice returning to you again and again. Echo Point is situated about 13 km away from Munnar town on the way towards the Top Station or Top Slip. Echo Point is a phenomenon found in most of the hill stations. Munnar also has an Echo Point at a scenic lake bank. At Echo Point, people can clearly hear their loud voice echoing within the reservoir. Echo Point is also a picnic spot where tourists, as well as natives, love to stroll along the misty green slopes of the lake. Nature walks at Echo Point is a popular activity. Also, tourists can go for trekking through the nearby coffee, tea and spice plantations, and grasslands. Cool breeze along with calm serene surroundings make Echo Point a favorite place among wayfarers. The specialty of this place is that the voices made resound back into the surroundings breaking the serene silence of hill stations. Also, it is a nice spot to embark on nature’s trail along the paths cutting through the stretches of tea, coffee, and spice plantations or to plunge into trekking. There are some areas where elephants reach near the lake to drink water. Seeing elephants near the road is unusual, especially during day time. However, such a chance cannot be totally ruled out as well. Boating is popular at Eco point. The other thing to do is just to enjoy the scenery and take a few snaps. Or some small shopping at the makeshift stalls which sell small souvenirs.

Tips

• There are a lot of shops outside the Echo point area for any shopping. Spices and chocolates are likely to be expensive than Munnar town as these get transported from Munar town.
• No restroom facilities at this point.
• Can avail the services of a local photographer to get some of our pictures printed for INR 20/-. But they don't give you the soft copy/transfer the images to your mobile and they separately charge for it.
