Shuka Vana
Overview
Shuka Vana literally means parrot park is a rehabilitation center for birds in the serene premises of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama. Located on Nanjanagud- Mysore Highway about 4 km from Mysore Palace, 10 km from Chamundi Hill, 4.1 km from Mysore Zoo, very next to Kishkindha Moolika Bonsai Garden.
This park has numerous rare and colorful species of Parrots from the world over. Established by Dr. Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, the Founder of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore, Shuka Vana is home for More than 450 species of parrots totaling to over 2200 birds find home at Shuka Vana, established by Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Swamiji in Started in 2012 with the objective of giving shelter to abandoned birds and sick birds. Shuka Vana most importantly gives shelter to injured & uncared birds with a high degree of commitment and compassion. Sri Swamiji has taken a serious resolve to take care of physically challenged birds that are not receiving proper care with their owners who have lost interest in them.
Shuka Vana has made it to the Guinness World Records for housing the largest number of bird species in an aviary. The certificate was presented to the swami this May. And with its formidable diversity of birds, and 2,200 individual birds, the aviary has turned into an education center of sorts for children.
Know Before you go
- Plan your visit during a weekday.
- Photography and mobiles are not allowed. There is also provision of feeding birds and taking photographs with them at a cost of 110 INR per person. for 2 people it is 120, for 3- 130, 4-140 and 5- 150.
- official photographer, which costs Rs.150 to 200 INR.
- can get yourself photographed with exotic birds for a fee of Rs. 200 per bird. You can get yourself photographed with Scarlet Macaw, Cockatoo, etc.
- Most of the exotic birds are from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore

Cancellation Policy
- No refund if cancelled : We know plans can change, and we're here to help. Unfortunately, no refunds are available once a booking is confirmed. Your reservation is final, and modifications or reschedules can't be accommodated. In case of cancellation, a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
- Unforeseen Circumstances : This activity requires good weather. In cases of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions leading this activity cancellations, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
- Refund Process : Refunds will be credited to the original booking payment source within 10 business days, and cash refunds will not be issued
